Hi,
It would be great if we could look up profiles by just typing in the state, city or country. The way we're doing it now is great but this will give people another choice.

I agree with that. I really thing at least the country should have to be selected from a combo box, or another option can be put in there for those who still prefer not to specify their country. But the edit box can still be left in for those who just want to put a city or state or something else. Then a search thing as you were mentioning can be put where you could select the country or "other" or "not specified." We do have something to sort users by location, but if you were looking for people from a specific place, you'd need to go thru hundreds or thousands of people just to find that specific group. It would also be nice to have a search option by age group with a combo box that has specific age groups (and "not specified" for those who hadn't filled in the birthday year part and not at all.)

Yes this would be an excellent idea. I'm totally behind you on this idea. I'm quite surprised this wasn't on the site to begin with to be honest with you. I mean it'd make your search more efficeient rather than clicking on everyone's screen name from the login list.

I'm surprised this wasn't a part of profiles in the first place. This would be nice for people who are just looking for people in their own area.

I'd also agree that this is a really cool idea.

Yes, a verry good idea indeed. How about we take it a step further. It could be something like an advanced user profile search page. In this search "search by location" could be an edit box. "Search for users between the age of...", and could either be ttwo combo boxes, or edit fields where one could put in two numbers, let's say... age 18 to 24. Search profiles that have been modified within could be a edit field and you c could put a number, say 2, then have a combo box sullecting days, weeks, months, or years. Any edit ox that didn't have anything would be ignored a nd therefor not used in the search. Does this make sense to anyone? +

I like this idea yes. However alot of users prefer to not put their state or location in. Some get kinda creative like one said "Behind my desk." Another said "In front of the computer." That kind of thing. I wish we could enforce what state you're from at least so that the search results would be accurate. I mean if you're that scared of people knowing what town you're in, don't put city/state just the city or the state is fine. I'm just as puzzled as why the admins left this out. Some forums actually let you search profiles by certian criteria. Such as age, gender, location, if you have a website, picture, audio profiles. Why we can have catagories like that, maybe that might make things more easy? Then just use the search for age, gender, location and who has a website.
